Frozen 2 Release Date

What all fans of animated movies are eagerly expecting is the next installment of “Frozen.” Although no official statement on its release date has been made, it will definitely hit the theaters.

What seems to be taking so much time is the production of the movie. Namely, the development of the first installment lasted two years, so the second part surely won’t take less time than that.

Actress Kristen Bell, who gave her voice to Anna, has mentioned in an interview that Disney needs a lot of time to make a sequel of good quality. She said that when one had such a successful first movie, they certainly want to make a sequel. What took so much time was coming up with the story and deciding on what the message it conveyed would be, as well as seeing what would be important in the story.

Many speculations are circulating these days on the next sequel, even the one on the possible connection of “Frozen” and “Tarzan.” This rumor is based on co-directors statement in an MTV interview that he had in his head a strange little world where Anna and Elsa’s brother was Tarzan. This led to its fans really hoping that Tarzan will be featured in “Frozen 2”.

At this point, it is unclear how would the crew combine the magical world of Frozen with Tarzan story. It would be a great move for Disney, but we would also like to see separate movies for both of these.

There will certainly be a lot more interesting rumors sparked by all sorts of things connected to “Frozen,” but what is important is that “Frozen 2” is coming and is eagerly expected. In the meantime, there are some other “Frozen” projects to satisfy fans while waiting, such as the Broadway musical planned for the spring next year. There will also be a pre-Broadway event from Aug. 17 to Oct. 1, 2017, at the Buell Theatre, Denver Center for the Performing Arts, so all Elsa fans can enjoy it while waiting to see “Frozen 2” on the big screen.

‘Frozen’ Director Just Confirmed Tarzan Is Anna And Elsa’s Baby Brother

Frozen co-director Chris Buck just confirmed one of the longest-standing fan theories that Elsa and Anna’s parents did not immediately die at sea and instead stayed in a jungle after the shipwreck. They had a newborn son and they built a tree house only to meet a tragic end when they were devoured by a leopard.

Buck’s revelation just confirmed that Elsa and Anna’s parents have given birth to Tarzan. Frozen’s co-director is likewise the director of Tarzan and in an interview with MTV, he talked about the theory.

“Of course Anna and Elsa’s parents didn’t die. Yes, there was a shipwreck, but they were at sea a little bit longer than we think they were because the mother was pregnant, and she gave birth on the boat, to a little boy. They get shipwrecked, and somehow they really washed way far away from the Scandinavian waters, and they end up in the jungle. They end up building a tree house and a leopard kills them, so their baby boy is raised by gorillas.”

For Buck, working on Frozen for years allowed him to explore other storylines. “In my little head, Anna and Elsa’s brother is Tarzan. That’s my fun little world. Whatever people want to believe, go for it,” he further said. “That’s the spirit of Disney.”

Frozen 2 is on its way and it is exciting if the cast members will mention the theory. The full-length sequel is expected to come out before 2019 since Disney has pretty much mapped out its releases for 2017 and 2018 with no mention of Frozen 2.

Kristen Bell, who will reprise her role in the film, previously told Collider that the reason Disney is taking so long is that “they wanted to figure out what story they needed to tell and what would be important and engaging and I think they found it.”

Meanwhile, while waiting for Frozen 2, fans can look forward to Olaf’s Frozen Adventure that will air on ABC at the end of this year. The Christmas special will of course highlight the beloved snowman’s story. In the sequel, it is believed that Olaf will have a girlfriend.

Another relevant project is the Frozen Broadway show which will premiere in the spring of 2018. There’s no final word yet on the casting, but during the table read held in New York last May, Betsy Wolfe, Patti Murin, and Okieiete Onaodowan gave life to the roles of Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff.

The story of Frozen 2 remains to be seen but recently, some wondered if Disney will make Elsa its first LGBT lead star. Since Anna has Kristoff, several petitions have been started asking the company to #GiveElsaAGirlfriend. Idina Menzel, who lent her voice to the queen, told Pride Source that she’s happy but at the same time doubtful if Disney will listen to the requests.

“Maybe at first I was a little surprised because it’s Disney, but I can say that I’m excited that the conversation is happening. I can’t promise anybody that that’s what’s gonna happen… But deep down am I really happy that it’s causing people to talk about it and have these kinds of conversations? Yeah, I am.”
The 45-year-old already played the role of a bisexual in Rent. Her part as Maureen not only earned her the applause of the LGBT community, but also a Tony Award nomination.

Menzel considers herself lucky to be in a position where she inspires the young ones. She recalls receiving letters from kids who are struggling with their identities. She believes her character in Frozen reminds them to embrace who they are and start changing the world around them regardless of their identities.

Details of “Frozen 2” remains to be very limited as of writing. While several reports have already noted that “Frozen” characters Anna, played by Kristen Bell; Elsa, played by Idina Menzel; and Olaf, played by Josh Gad will all return to reprise their roles, it’s only actress Kristen Bell who has been actively sharing information about the sequel’s progress.

Many have started to speculate that Idina might not return, as several “Frozen 2” rumors have named Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift as possible replacements for the Broadway star. As iTech Post recently reported, Demi could be good choice given her powerful vocal range.

While nothing has been set on stone just yet, actor Josh Gad has a few expectations for his character Olaf in “Frozen 2.” As he recently shared, he wants to see Olaf grow while showing audiences how much he has changed since knowing more about the world. “You know, he’s so new to the world,” Josh said as Cinema Blend reported. “I’d love to see what being around in this world a little bit has taught him, or is teaching him.”

Meanwhile, new reports have also started to claim that “Frozen 2” will most probably introduce a King that will win over Queen Elsa‘s heart. According to Movie News Guide, the central theme for the upcoming movie could be about finding love. As the sisters mature, it would be possible that a love interest for the icy queen could be included in the storyline.

During an interview with Collider, Bell, who voiced Anna in “Frozen,” revealed that she just finished recording for her reprised role. But no, it’s not for “Frozen 2.” It turns out, the cast and crew of the hit Disney movie is working on other related projects.
“What we have been working on is an Olaf Christmas special that we’re doing for next year (airing on ABC).” the 36-year-old actress revealed. “We’ve recorded that already, which has been a lot of fun to work on.”
The said project is for the 2017 holiday special which focused on the cheerful snowman, Olaf. Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Sven are also set to return. The special, which is still untitled, will be directed by award winning directors Kevin Deters and Steven Wermers-Skelton. It will also be produced by Oscar Award-winner Roy Conli of the “Big Hero 6.” Original voice cast will also reprise their roles for the said special including Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel and Josh Gad.
Meanwhile, Bell also clarified that they haven’t began recording yet which is contrary to her earlier statement that they were about to commence recording for “Frozen 2.”

“We haven’t, actually. I thought we were about to start recording, but I was mistaken. So, we haven’t begun yet,” Bell admitted, clarifying her claims back in March.

The actress also added that the writers are working hard to polish the script, saying: “They’re putting the finishing touches on the script. We record, as those characters, often. At the change of season at the parks, whether it’s for Disneyland, Epcot, or when Japan opens, we will record new voices for our characters, but we actually haven’t started recording for the second Frozen.”
As of this writing, no official premiere date has been confirmed for “Frozen 2” but it is expected to release in late 2018.

This smash turnout caused the delay in making “Frozen 2,” according to Kristen Bell. “That’s why it took them so long to even announce that we were doing a second one. Generally when you have a first successful movie you want to make a second one. It took them a while because they wanted to figure out what story they needed to tell and what would be important and engaging and I think they found it,” she revealed in the same interview with E! news.

With that, he understood that filmmaking can be a medium for change, creating statements that society needs to hear. This means that the upcoming “Frozen 2” is expected to put the two strong female characters, Anna, played by Kristen Bell, and Elsa, played by Idina Menzel, in a situation that reflects the culture nowadays.

According to MTV, Buck stated, “I think we’re very aware of what is happening in society. I don’t think any of us take [them] lightly, even though they can be very funny and entertaining, the messages that our movies have and the influence they can have on young people. When the kids [watch] them, they watch them over and over again, and if we don’t have a decent message in there, I think we’ve missed an opportunity.”

Along with Bell and Menzel, it was reported that Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad will also be reprising their roles in the upcoming film. Apart from that, there has yet to be any details regarding the plot of the film. However, there have been many speculations regarding what the characters could be facing in the upcoming sequel.

According to a report from Cross Map, there are speculations that Olaf will fall in love in “Frozen 2.” However, there is still no uncertainty if Olaf’s girlfriend is human or made of snow.

Telegraph notes that Olaf having a girlfriend is vital for Disney. This new angle will not only make the plot exciting, but it will also boost merchandise sales. Apart from Anna, Kristoff and Elsa, one of the most popular characters in “Frozen” is Olaf, and him having a love interest would “send the cuteness factor over the edge.”

Josh Gad, the actor who plays Olaf, expressed his excitement for “Frozen 2.” He said to E! News, “I’m just excited that they announced it. I have complete faith in the creative team and I’m excited to hear that it’s happening at this point.”

Last March, Disney announced that “Frozen 2″ has been green lit via a tweet saying, “Forecast: Winter weather ahead! @DisneyAnimation developing #Frozen2 with Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee.”

Meanwhile, in other “Frozen 2″ news, Parent Herald previously reported that there will be a “magical twist” happening between sisters Elsa and Anna, where the younger sister of Arrendale will be the focus of the second film. However, director Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee quickly denounced the rumor, saying that Anna’s only superpower is love, per an interview with Hit-Fix.

The Telegraph further notes that despite fan’s eagerness to see the sequel, “Frozen 2” won’t be released before 2018. Considering that Disney is packed with three more films before “Frozen 2″ can be developed. Also, the first “Frozen” film was released two years after its announcement, which means that fans have to wait a little more.

Also, apart from Gad, Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel will be back for “Frozen 2.” Bell even tweeted the annoucement by posting funny pictures of her with a bag of ice. Back in March, Bell told the Huffington Post that she will always be ready for a “Frozen” sequel. “Should my phone ring, I will be there in a heartbeat,” said Bell.

It is also rumored that Elsa will don a new dress come “Frozen 2.” Telegraph says that Elsa’s iconic blue dress has been a hit that Disney will not pass up the chance to create another outfit for Elsa.

Exciting as it may seem, some of these details are still speculations, and we must still wait for further “Frozen 2” announcements from Disney to confirm them.

The speculation of a ‘Frozen 2‘ has been around since last year, and just when we’re about to give up hope, Walt Disney took to Twitter to announce that ‘Frozen 2‘ is finally happening. tweet below.

Whilst there are no official announcement on the plot for the upcoming ‘Frozen 2‘ one that seems to be pretty persistent is the news that Prince Hans will be coming back in ‘Frozen 2‘. But the shocker was that Prince Hans will be the love-interest of Queen Elsa.

I guess this plot has a lot to do with second chances and forgiveness, but after the stunt that Prince Hans pulled off in the first film, it’ll take Disney a whole lot to make the audience convince that Prince Hans can be good. After all, we all believed him in the first half of ‘Frozen’ so what assurance do we have that he’s actually changed and he’s not just after the throne?

Another rumor was that there’ll be a new villain in Arendelle and the villain this time would be a woman. I guess we’ll have to wait for a while before we’ll truly know, I’m just glad that Olaf‘s coming back.

Last but not the least, it is reported that Olaf will also have a love interest in ‘Frozen 2‘. According to ‘The Telegraph’, Josh Gad (voice of Olaf) hinted that Olaf will have a female counter-part in ‘Frozen 2′.

Frozen 2‘ is pegged to be released-earliest-by 2017.
